Don Schafer, Partner

Don Schaefer, Partner, Civil & DHS - Don brings over 20 years of leadership experience with expertise in technology consulting and system engineering to Blue Canopy.

Prior to joining Blue Canopy, Don was Senior Vice President / Partner at Booz Allen Hamilton where he created and successfully led a portfolio of innovative and industry unique engineering approaches and cross market business units; Mission Engineering® service, an advanced system engineering analysis, integration, and design approach, Concept Visualization, an award winning rapid prototyping and program advocacy approach. Don successfully led the development of engineering solutions for the Department of Homeland Security, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, NSA, CIA, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Air Force, Navy, and the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Don previously served as a Naval Intelligence Officer and held leadership positions in organizations such as General Electric, where he was a Lead Engineer supporting aerospace, military, and data systems operations, and Techies.com, where he was Senior Vice President of Engineering. He also founded and was CEO of SKM Technologies, Inc., a software development company. Don´s current focus is in developing a suite of SE&I services to enhance a client´s Program Management Office´s (PMO) technical capabilities to ensure developed solutions meet a clients intended operational needs.

Don is a member of the International Council on System Engineering (INCOSE), the Project Management Institute (PMI), and is active in the Boy Scouts of America. He holds a B.S. degree in business administration from Chaminade University.
