Robert Riegle, Director

Robert Riegle serves as the Director of Homeland Security and Law Enforcement Practice in Blue Canopy, LLC, where he specializes in the application of Information Sharing and Information Security solutions for Homeland Security and Law Enforcement professionals. Mr. Riegle is a highly regarded expert in domestic intelligence sharing between federal and state and local governments and comes to Blue Canopy with over 18 years of Federal service. Prior to joining Blue Canopy, Mr. Riegle served as a Senior Executive Service Director of the State and Local Government Program Office within the Office of Intelligence & Analysis in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

At the Department, Mr. Riegle spearheaded the development of intelligence sharing relationships concerning many State and Local Government Fusion Centers and was a co-lead for the DHS-wide effort to formalize policy concerning Fusion Center Relationships. He served as the DHS representative to the Department of Justice’s Global Justice Initiative, the Co-chair of the National Fusion Center Coordination Group and as an advisory member of the Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council. Prior to working at DHS, Mr. Riegle worked at Booz Allen Hamilton in the Strategic Communications Area; the Defense Intelligence Agency as a National Intelligence Support Team (NIST) Intelligence Specialist, serving in Operations: Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle. He also worked at Chevy Chase Bank as a Corporate Vice-President and Indeck Power Overseas Ltd. as the Regional Manager - Pacific Rim.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Government from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America – Columbus School of Law. Mr. Riegle had the honor of being a delegate for the Department of Justice team at the Nobel Prize Public Safety Week event in 2008 in Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden. He holds numerous military awards and decorations to include, two Combat Action Ribbons, The Joint Unit Commendation Medal, The Joint Unit Achievement Medal, and four Navy Achievement Medals. He is a member of the UDT/Seal Association, the American Bar Association, and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Association. Robert lives in Crystal City, Virginia with his family and is an avid skier and golfer.
