Capability Based Solutions (CBS)

Capability Based Solutions (CBS) is a unique Blue Canopy offering created to provide an analytical framework for targeting the specific actions needed to mature an organization’s capabilities over time. Our CBS approach, based upon both operational and technical analysis, deconstructs each capability into its core elements and then guides the organization in first gaining a better understanding of what enterprise capabilities exist today, but also how each capability aligns to and is associated with other enterprise capabilities and what key attributes make up each capability. Blue Canopy’s team also works with the customer in defining the evolutionary maturity of those capabilities over time, from threshold (CT-M0) to objective state (CO-MN), and develops the corresponding road map for delivering those enhancements and new capabilities, all within the context of the organization’s specific strategic goals and objectives

System Engineering and Technical Services for PMO

How do we implement an Enterprise Architecture? How do we ensure the delivered system will meet our operational expectations? How does our PMO validate that the operation requirements are complete? How does our PMO validate the design from the development contractor? Government programs are struggling with these questions every day. What is missing? Too many program management offices (PMO’s) have no clear method for; validating the enterprise needs (both operational and technical), and then how to drive those validated needs into a defendable and traceable set of inter-related program specifications mapped to schedule, cost, risk and requirements. Blue Canopy offers a framework and methodology that will capture, catalog and validate the operational and technical needs to deliver a System Concept Design (SCD) to the PMO. Next, Blue Canopy works with the Program Management Office on how to use these defendable and relational results for such PMO responsibilities as acquisition packaging, requirements development, schedule development, and technology assessment. Further, once the SCD and framework is in place, Blue Canopy works with the development contractors to ‘shepherd’ the SCD builds through the organization’s software or engineering lifecycle,...to ensure what is delivered, meets the intent of the operational needs.
